En el centro de la crisis del Estado judicial está el Tribunal Constitucional cuya mayoría se resiste a perder la derecha conservadora después de nueve años de uso declarado.
Reconoce que las conversaciones sobre el Poder Judicial están "muy avanzadas" e insiste en que la juez Victoria Rosell "no cumple" los requisitos para formar parte del órgano de gobierno de los jueces.
El exdirigente socialista dice que no tener "ni idea" del motivo. Sobre si lo ve como una afrenta de su partido, razona que las "ofensas no dependen del que las haga, sino del que las recibe": "Y yo no recibo ninguna ofensa"
El jefe del Ejecutivo vasco arguye que "no podemos recurrir a un tribunal, ni siquiera al Tribunal Constitucional, y pedir que el Estatuto se cumpla, de una vez por todas, no podemos hacerlo porque el Tribunal Constitucional ya ha rechazado esta vía".
